Cavendish Primary School

Enrichment Clubs

Here at Cavendish, we are passionate about providing as many exciting opportunities as possible for our pupils, both in the curriculum and extra-curricular.

From sporting clubs after school and events during the school day to art and drama, we endeavour to provide activities that suit every child to enhance their school journey beyond the school day.

Together, our pupils, parents and teaching staff make up a vibrant community of individuals at Cavendish with a shared passion that teaching and learning should not be confined to the classroom. Instead, we strive to harness the creative spirit of our pupils, and inspire self-expression from a very young age.

Our fun and inventive extra-curricular programme is a key part of informal learning and a great opportunity to make new friends, as well as build social confidence, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills. From EYFS upwards, pupils can participate in many different activities crafted to reinforce teaching in the curriculum, as well as supporting existing passions and nurturing new ones.

Whilst we are proud of our academic outcomes, we know that those alone do not make for a well-rounded person; we are committed to developing the whole child through a range of experiences that go beyond the curriculum requirements.

We have worked hard over the last academic year to improve what we can offer our children at Cavendish Primary School, especially with Sporting opportunities.

At Cavendish Primary School we:

  • ensure positive relationships are developed across the school community, supporting children to build a circle of peers who share a common interest/hobby/goal;
  • promote a healthy balance between school and life, complementing and extending the statutory curriculum by providing opportunities to develop new skills;
  • create opportunities to explore and try out new activities;
  • foster a positive attitude to all aspects of school;

The school also runs competitive teams in all major sports, mainly after school, for all ages from KS1 to KS2, this also includes a range of inclusive sports, such as Boccia and New Age Curling.

In addition, all students take part in regular inter-house competitions as part of the PE Curriculum; they are encouraged to reach their highest possible potential and to enjoy taking part by providing them with every opportunity to develop their skills and expertise.

Extra-curricular activities we offer include: Choir, Drama, football, netball, creative writing, gardening, cooking and multi-sports.
