Enterprise
Enterprise at Cavendish provides the pupils with opportunities to develop essential skills and attitudes which not only enrich their academic learning, but also provide a strong foundation for the future. We work closely with the Hull Enterprise team and attend evens such as 'Global Enterprise Week' which is held at the Hull Guild Hall.
Enterprise education provides pupils with the skills, competencies and mindset to make the most of everyday opportunities and challenges. Being enterprising is something which can be applied to all aspects of life and work - identifying and initiation opportunities as well as adapting responses to situations.
At Cavendish, Enterprise is a key part of school life as pupils are provided with opportunities to 'Be Enterprising' and support with the development of events within their classes and as a school, raise money for charity, take part in local Enterprise opportunities and develop and understanding about the world of work.
Enterprise begins from EYFS with opportunities to learn about the 6 skills. The EYFS held a Spring Stall for families to help raise money to keep their own chicks in school to watch them grow as part of their curriculum.
Our Year 5 pupils work hard on the 'Make £5 Blossom', learning how to use a given amount of money to make it blossom through a range of their own initiatives. this year their enterprising activities included: Valentine's biscuits, a tombola and a healthy tuck shop.
We are proud of the pupils who set up and lead and Enterprising activity such as some Year 6 girls who raised money for the charity 'Life for a Kid'.
They created and sold lots of lovely crafts including: fortune tellers, paper claws, stickers, origami animals, painted rocks and much more.
